Explore the Science of Waste and Sustainability

Located at DSWA’s Administrative Office in Dover, the Environmental Education Center offers a hands-on look at how Delaware manages trash, recycling, and composting. Visitors explore interactive exhibits and take part in classroom lessons that bring waste management, natural resources, and sustainability concepts to life.

                             PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Classroom Lessons – Learn how to recycle correctly at home and understand what happens to materials after pickup.

  • Interactive Exhibits – Hands-on displays explore landfills, household hazardous waste, composting, and natural resources.

  • Live-Action Conveyor Belt – Practice sorting recyclables just like workers inside the center and discover the careers behind the process.

  • Lunch Space Available – The classroom is available for groups to eat lunch after the program (participants provide their own lunch).
