All programs are free!

Dover
Coming Soon
The success of the Environmental Education Building has led DSWA to expand its program and is in the process of opening a new Environmental Education Center in Dover. This center aims to provide the same interactive and classroom learning experience as the original center and be more accessible to schools in Kent and Sussex County.
Virtual Programs
If you are unable to visit one of our environmental education centers in person we offer programs for your students. All programs include a recycling lesson but can be accompanied by other topics that may fit your curriculum i.e, composting, soils or natural resources. All participants will virtually practice their recycling sorting skills with an up close look at our live action conveyor belt!
Virtual programs are 45 minutes and can accommodate up to 30 students (if using their own devices). Programs can support Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
All programs are FREE!
School Outreach Program
Let us bring recycling education to you! Whether you want an assembly about recycling for your entire grade level or a presentation for your school’s green team our staff can accommodate any size group. Programs can include a visit from Trash Can Dan!
Outreach programs are about 45 minutes.
Audio/visual capabilities are preferred but not required.
Adult/Special Group Presentations
Everyone has something to learn when it comes to best waste practices! Adult groups are invited to schedule a program at one of DSWA’s environmental education centers or request an outreach program. All programs provide a presentation to clarify the dos and don’ts of using your recycling bin and how all recyclables are managed in Delaware.
Programs run 1-1.5 hours and can be scheduled during the day/evening.
Programs scheduled at one of DSWA’s environmental education centers can accommodate up to 30 adults. Outreach programs can accommodate groups of any size.
